Job summary

Required: CDL, ATSSA Traffic Control Technician and Supervisor certifications, five years as HEO III, and ability to train staff while enforcing safety compliance. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence.
• Mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with dollars, weights, volumes and distances.
• Reasoning ability: apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and assigns duties to a crew under supervision with routine data and communicates with department personnel.
• Maintains the upkeep of grounds, equipment, buildings and vehicles of the Street Department.
• Assists in training personnel on operation, repair and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Follows safety policies and maintains daily activity diary.
• Supports development of public relations and may standby as requested.
