Job description

We're building the Amazon of labor. We're a labor platform pairing end-to-end workforce management technology with a rapidly growing global network of 5M flexible workers to create scalable labor solutions for the largest companies in the world, like Circle K, Pepsi, Dollar General, Starbucks and more. Our unique business model fractionalizes jobs down to shifts and makes it easy for workers to work across multiple companies through a digital marketplace. We're one of the fastest-growing startups in the country. We've grown 2-3x each year since we started and raised $120M+ from top-tier investors including D1 Capital & Imaginary Ventures and we're only getting started.

Our mission is to build the world's leading platform for hourly workers and enterprises enabling flexibility, choice, and upward social mobility.
  • Join a rocketship. This is a unique opportunity to join the ground floor of a rapidly scaling business that is changing the way hourly labor works and capturing a $2 trillion dollar opportunity in the US alone.
  • Ownership + impact. Join a team that is challenging and supporting one another to build a great business and create flexibility, choice, and upward social mobility for workers everywhere.
  • Captain your career path. Enjoy accelerated learning and growth working with a world-class team from top tech companies (e.g. Uber, Airbnb, Google, Amazon), business schools (e.g. HBS, GSB, Wharton), and professional services (e.g. Bain, BCG, Goldman).
  • Become a world-class executor. We believe that #ExecutionIsBinary, and are dedicated to helping you master that skill for life here and beyond.
Mission: What we do and why we need you

The mission of the Marketplace Associate is to help us successfully launch and scale high-quality fulfillment for our customers - ensuring the right workers are assigned, show up, and complete shifts as expected . The early stages of a launch are the most critical in our ability to prove quality and execution, and this role will be responsible for helping ensure we deliver on that promise.

You will join the Marketplace Operations team ahead of several significant customer launches, with the opportunity to learn our marketplace systems and operating model through existing programs before growing into ownership of a major launch and its ongoing Marketplace execution.

This role is based in New York City (HQ) with typically 4+ days in office and up to ~15% travel required.

Outcomes: What problems you will solve

Your role will evolve over time but some of your early responsibilities will include:

  • Own shift fulfillment targets for new customer launches and ensure high-quality delivery (fill rate).
  • Execute a combination of scaled tactics such as onboarding campaigns, marketplace analytics, and bonuses/incentives, as well as hands-on tactics such as assisted partner conversion and targeted bonuses, to deliver against those targets.
  • Build toward owning day-to-day Marketplace execution for a major customer launch as the program scales.
  • Use tools like Google Sheets, SQL, and other analytical resources to gather and analyze data, develop insights, and inform decisions regarding shift fulfillment gaps, efficiency opportunities, and product improvements.
  • Proactively identify marketplace risks, monitor and triage in-shift issues, and drive cross-functional resolution where required.
  • Build repeatable processes, workflows, and tooling that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention as programs scale.

Do you have what it takes to acquire new partners successfully and fundamentally change labor? Here are the attributes you'll need:

  • High ownership: You have 1-3 years of experience in operations, strategy & operations, consulting, or a similar fast-paced environment. You take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks, and are proactive and persistent in driving problems through to resolution.
  • Analytical problem solver: You are comfortable using data to understand problems, develop insights, and make decisions. You have strong SQL or technical fluency and can translate analysis into action.
  • Results driven: You have a track record of hitting or exceeding targets and are motivated by measurable outcomes. You maintain urgency and focus even when faced with obstacles or setbacks.
  • Adaptable and independent: You thrive in ambiguity, learn quickly, and can operate with a high level of autonomy once given context and direction. You know when to make a decision independently and when to escape.
  • Highly organized: You bring structure to complex or ambiguous work, ruthlessly prioritize, and consistently follow through across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong communicator: You communicate clearly and effectively across functions, build strong working relationships, and can drive alignment toward a shared outcome.
Compensation philosophy

To provide greater transparency we share base salary ranges, which are based on role and level benchmarked against similar stage, high growth companies. Offers are determined based on multiple factors including skills, work experience, and relevant credentials.

In addition to competitive salaries and meaningful equity we offer the following benefits:

  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage: We cover 100% of employee premiums for medical, dental, and vision care (60-75% for dependents)
  • 401(k) match program: We match 100% on the first 3% of your contributions and 50% on the next 2% for a maximum match of 4%
  • Generous, fully paid parental and family leave policies
  • Collaborative office with fully stocked kitchen @ 1 World Trade in Manhattan
