Job description

Arbol is a global climate risk coverage platform and FinTech company offering full-service solutions for any business looking to analyze and mitigate exposure to climate risk. Arbol’s products offer parametric coverage which pays out based on objective data triggers rather than subjective assessment of loss. Arbol’s key differentiator versus traditional InsurTech or climate analytics platforms is the complete ecosystem it has built to address climate risk. This ecosystem includes a massive climate data infrastructure, scalable product development, automated, instant pricing using an artificial intelligence underwriter, blockchain-powered operational efficiencies, and non-traditional risk capacity bringing capital from non-insurance sources. By combining all these factors, Arbol brings scale, transparency, and efficiency to parametric coverage.

We are looking for a highly capable Strategy & Operations Associate to help build and scale a growing fintech business.

You will work closely with senior leadership and collaborate across product, technology, sales, finance, and operations. The role combines analytical problem-solving with hands-on execution: you will identify important business problems, develop practical solutions, and remain involved until those solutions are working in practice.

This is not a purely advisory role. You will have direct ownership over critical workflows, operating metrics, and cross-functional initiatives that affect customers, partners, and financial performance.

The ideal candidate is a smart, adaptable generalist who learns quickly, exercises strong judgment, and enjoys bringing structure to ambiguous problems.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Own and improve critical business workflows across customer onboarding, transaction execution, account servicing, partner management, reporting, and other core operations
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and build scalable processes, controls, and documentation to address them
  • Work with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into clear requirements for internal tools, customer-facing products, and automation
  • Build reporting that gives the team visibility into growth, conversion, turnaround times, service levels, unit economics, and other key performance indicators
  • Analyze business performance and recommend changes to improve growth, efficiency, economics, and customer experience
  • Coordinate across product, technology, sales, finance, operations, and external partners to keep important initiatives moving
  • Support the development and launch of new products, partnerships, and distribution channels
  • Conduct market, competitor, and strategic analysis to inform business priorities
  • Manage high-priority projects from initial problem definition through implementation and ongoing performance monitoring
  • Help establish the operating cadence, processes, and infrastructure required to scale the business
  • Step into emerging problems that do not fit neatly within an existing function and take responsibility for resolving them
What You'll Need
  • One to two years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, startup operations, fintech, or another analytically rigorous environment
  • Management consulting experience is especially attractive because of the role’s emphasis on structured problem-solving, cross-functional execution, and working through ambiguity
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with financial and operational data
  • An ability to understand complex systems, identify what matters, and translate analysis into action
  • Strong project-management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and drive work forward without constant supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail without losing sight of broader commercial priorities
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where responsibilities may evolve as the business grows
  • A low-ego, high-ownership approach and a willingness to move between strategic analysis and detailed execution
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; experience with SQL, data-visualization tools, workflow automation, or AI-enabled tools is helpful but not required
What's Great to Have

Direct fintech or financial-services experience is helpful but not required. Intellectual curiosity, commercial judgment, and the ability to learn quickly are more important.

$100,000 - $110,000 a year

Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's location and experience.

Candidates for this role must be located in the United States.
