Job summary

Siemens Advanta North America seeks a Strategy & Innovation / Operations Automation & Digitalization Consultant to translate strategy into measurable operational impact across procurement, manufacturing, and operations. You will work in interdisciplinary teams with client exposure, owning modules and supporting adoption.

The role emphasizes consulting rigor, a seller-doer mindset, and experience in utilities is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines (business, economics, engineering, CS, analytics, finance, or operations).
• 2-3+ years of strong experience in management consulting, industrial operations, procurement, manufacturing tech, automation, or digital transformation.
• Working knowledge of industrial operations, procurement, manufacturing systems, Siemens tech, MES/MOM, SCADA, PLC, ERP, production, maintenance, quality, planning, logistics, supplier management, or IT/OT environments.
• Hands-on experience using generative AI tools (Copilot/Claude) to improve research, analysis, and deliverable creation.
• 2-3+ years leading workstreams and collaborating across business, procurement, operations, engineering, Tech Services, and technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Structure growth, innovation, operations, and automation problems into clear plans and decision points.
• Conduct market, financial, operational, process, manufacturing, and technology analyses to identify insights and opportunities.
• Develop growth strategies, procurement and manufacturing improvements, roadmaps, and business cases.
• Assess workflows and identify where Siemens tech (MES/MOM, SCADA, PLC, ERP) can improve performance.
• Facilitate interviews, workshops, and shop-floor observations to align stakeholders and validate pain points.
• Create decision-oriented deliverables for executives and implementation teams.
• Own project modules, pursue follow-on opportunities, and maintain quality and client communication.
• Collaborate with Siemens Tech Services and SMEs to move from advisory to implementation planning.

Our North America consulting team focuses on complex transformation challenges where advanced technologies must be connected to clear business value, operating realities, and implementation discipline. You will join small, interdisciplinary teams with meaningful client exposure, clear ownership, and access to Siemens' deep industry, automation, software, and technology expertise.

We are looking for a Strategy & Innovation / Operations Automation & Digitalization Consultant to join Siemens Advanta North America. The ideal candidate combines structured consulting skills, a seller-doer mindset, and practical delivery experience to help clients improve operations, modernize procurement and manufacturing, and implement technological changes. Experience in utilities is preferred. What you’ll be doing:

You will support clients from strategic problem framing through implementation. This includes identifying growth and innovation opportunities, assessing procurement, manufacturing, and operations processes, translating business needs into technology transformation requirements, and helping deliver solutions that improve operational performance.

• Structure ambiguous growth, innovation, operations, and automation problems into clear workplans, hypotheses, and decision points.
• Conduct market, customer, competitor, financial, operational, process, manufacturing, and technology analyses to identify insights, value opportunities, and implementation constraints.
• Develop growth strategies, innovation concepts, procurement and manufacturing improvement opportunities, business cases, capability assessments, roadmaps, and implementation priorities.
• Assess procurement, supplier management, production, maintenance, quality, planning, logistics, and manufacturing workflows; identify where Siemens technology, MES/MOM, SCADA, PLC, ERP, data platforms, analytics, or workflow automation can improve performance.
• Facilitate interviews, process walkthroughs, shop-floor observations, workshops, and working sessions to align stakeholders, validate pain points, pressure-test options, and support adoption.
• Create decision-oriented deliverables for executives, business leaders, procurement, plant stakeholders, IT/OT teams, Tech Services partners, and implementation teams.
• Operate as a self-starter and seller-doer by owning project modules, shaping follow-on opportunities, and maintaining high standards for quality, timing, and client communication.
• Work hand in hand with Siemens Tech Services and technical SMEs to move from advisory recommendations to solution design, deployment planning, and implementation support.
• Use approved generative AI and productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or comparable platforms, to strengthen research, analysis, and deliverable development.
• Contribute to client development, Advanta offerings, thought leadership, recruiting, and junior colleague development.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines, such as business, economics, engineering, computer science, analytics, finance, or operations.
• 2-3+ years of strong experience in management consulting, industrial operations, procurement, manufacturing technology, automation, digital transformation, or a technology-enabled industrial enterprise.
• Working knowledge of industrial operations, procurement, manufacturing systems, Siemens technology, MES/MOM, SCADA, PLC, ERP, production, maintenance, quality, planning, logistics, supplier management, or related IT/OT environments.
• Hands-on experience using generative AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or comparable enterprise platforms, to improve research, analysis, and deliverable creation.
• 2-3+ years of experience with leading workstreams, collaborating across business, procurement, operations, engineering, Tech Services, and technology teams, and building trusted relationships.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to domestic and international client locations, depending on project needs, with hybrid delivery expected to remain common.
• Authorized to work in the United States without the need for company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as business, analytics, engineering, computer science, finance, or operations.
• Experience serving North American electric, gas, or water utilities, or working within a utility across strategy, innovation, transformation, operations, technology, automation, or enterprise functions.
• Knowledge of utility, procurement, manufacturing, or industrial technology environments, including electrification, distributed energy resources, data-center load growth, cybersecurity, affordability, supply-chain resilience, productivity, or decarbonization.
• Experience developing reusable AI-enabled workflows, prompt libraries, or quality-control methods while following enterprise data-security and responsible-AI requirements.
• Familiarity with Siemens industrial software, automation, digital enterprise, or related technology portfolios, and comfort delivering consulting projects with technical implementation teams
• Professional or academic experience in Siemens key markets.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess data, processes, systems, and organizations to develop fact-based recommendations.
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to identify client needs, structure opportunities, support proposals or statements of work, and convert advisory discussions into delivery-ready projects.
• Ability to communicate complex operational, technical, and strategic topics clearly to executives, plant stakeholders, IT/OT teams, and implementation teams.

• The pay for this position is $120,000, and the annual target incentive is 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
