Rocketdyne is seeking a Strategy Analyst to support Rocketdyne’s strategic planning and growth initiatives through competitive intelligence, market analysis, and data-driven insights.   • Bachelor's Degree with 4 years prior experience, or Graduate Degree with 2 years prior experience.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical or data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct competitive intelligence and market analysis across Rocketdyne’s space, defense, propulsion, power, and adjacent markets.
  • Develop and maintain market models, forecasts, and databases to assess market size, growth rates, customer demand, competitive positioning, and emerging opportunities.
  • Track competitors, including product portfolios, technologies, customers, contract awards, partnerships, acquisitions, investments, and strategic direction.
  • Analyze government budgets, acquisition plans, program documents, contract awards, and other public and proprietary sources to identify market trends and opportunities.
  • Develop competitor profiles and assessments to support strategic planning, business development, and investment decisions.
  • Identify emerging technologies, market disruptions, customer trends, and potential threats or opportunities to Rocketdyne’s businesses.
  • Support annual strategic planning, portfolio reviews, growth initiatives, and long-range planning.
  • Develop executive-level presentations and analyses that clearly communicate findings, implications, and recommendations.
  • Partner with Business Development, Government Relations, Finance, Engineering, and business leadership to develop market and competitive insights.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, market databases, and other tools that provide leadership with timely visibility into key market and competitive developments.
  • Support strategic assessments of potential new markets, products, partnerships, and investment opportunities.

The Strategy Analyst would support Rocketdyne’s strategic planning and growth initiatives through competitive intelligence, market analysis, and data-driven insights. This individual will develop and maintain a detailed understanding of Rocketdyne’s markets, customers, competitors, technologies, and industry trends and translate that information into actionable recommendations for company leadership. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, intellectually curious, and capable of turning complex market and competitive information into clear strategic insights.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct competitive intelligence and market analysis across Rocketdyne’s space, defense, propulsion, power, and adjacent markets.
  • Develop and maintain market models, forecasts, and databases to assess market size, growth rates, customer demand, competitive positioning, and emerging opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with 4 years prior experience, or Graduate Degree with 2 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical or data visualization tools.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in strategy, competitive intelligence, market research, consulting, aerospace and defense, or financial analysis
  • Knowledge of the space, defense, propulsion, or aerospace markets
  • Experience analyzing government budgets, contract awards, and acquisition programs
  • Experience developing market-sizing models and long-range forecasts
  • Experience conducting competitor benchmarking and competitive assessments
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of quantitative and qualitative information into executive-level insights
  • Experience working cross-functionally with:
