Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Strategic Weapons System Launcher Systems Engineer to join the Groton, CT team. The role involves installation, testing, and support of the Trident II Submarine Launcher Subsystem for U.S.

Navy programs, located at Groton and Quonset Point. It requires a self-starter with strong communication skills, capable of working in a multi-stakeholder environment and willing to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM and 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• US citizenship and interim Secret Clearance to start/continue.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and work rotating shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Trident II Submarine Launcher Subsystem installation, operation, and maintenance at Quonset Point, RI and Groton, CT sites.
• Witness and participate in SITP test procedures for COLUMBIA Class SSBNs.
• Support readiness reviews, attend working groups, and participate in daily standups as required.
• Train shipyard personnel in equipment operation and installation techniques.
• Analyze equipment failures to determine causes and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare status reports and daily task logs; collaborate with multiple stakeholders to resolve schedule issues.
