Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Groton CT seeks a Strategic Weapons System Launcher Systems Engineer to join a specialized team installing and testing the Trident II Submarine Launcher Subsystem for the Columbia class. This role can be hired at level 2 or level 3 Principal Systems Engineer with US citizenship and a Secret clearance; travel up to 25% is expected.

You will provide technical support at Quonset Point and Groton shipyard sites, witness SITP test procedures, train shipyard

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline required.
US citizenship and Interim Secret Clearance required to start.
Willingness to travel up to 25% and work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to shipyard personnel on installation, operation, and maintenance of the Trident II Submarine Launcher Subsystem at Quonset Point, RI and Groton, CT.
Witness and participate in SITP test procedures for COLUMBIA Class SSBNs.
Support test program readiness reviews, participate in working groups, and attend daily standup meetings.
Train shipyard personnel in equipment operation, installation, maintenance, and inspection procedures.
Analyze equipment failures to determine cause and recommend corrective action.
Prepare status reports and a daily log of tasks and repairs accomplished.
Collaborate with UK test personnel on lessons learned during SITP execution.
