Job summary

B is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to join our team. You'll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We're looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing and productivity.
• Ability to read plans, specs and contract documents.
• Strong takeoff, cost analysis and scope review skills.
• Experience with estimating software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed labor, materials and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Evaluate phasing, staging, logistics, constructability and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, opportunities, VE ideas and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and handoffs to project teams.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
• Partner with operations to set projects up for successful execution.
