Job summary

The Village Administrator will be the chief administrative and operational leader for the Village of Glen Carbon, working with the Mayor and the Village Board to implement policies and deliver high-quality municipal services. The role requires a visible, collaborative leader who can foster professionalism, accountability, innovation, and transparent service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, urban planning, finance, political science, economic/community development, or related field.
• Seven years of progressively responsible public sector managerial experience; village manager/administrator or assistant manager/administrator preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and public communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day operations through department heads and management team.
• Advise the Mayor and Village Board on operations, policy, and opportunities.
• Oversee budgeting, financial management, capital planning, and long-range planning.
• Support economic development and responsible community growth in coordination with leaders and staff.
