Job summary

Dallas College seeks a visionary, collaborative academic leader to serve as Vice Provost of the School of Creative Arts, Entertainment and Design (CAED).

Reporting to the Provost and Chief Academic Officer, the Vice Provost will provide strategic leadership for academic quality, student success, faculty and academic manager development, program effectiveness, resource stewardship and partnerships with employers and community organizations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; earned doctorate preferred, as confirmed by official transcripts.
• Five years of progressively responsible teaching, administrative and/or educational leadership experience.
• Three years of upper-level administrative or supervisory experience in a community college or higher education environment.
• Demonstrated successful experience in leadership, strategic planning, fiscal management, resource allocation and personnel supervision.
• Demonstrated distinguished record of teaching, scholarly publications and/or creative accomplishments that reflects a commitment to academic excellence.
• Will be subject to a criminal background check. Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee faculty and academic managers, with direct responsibility for academic excellence initiatives, including curriculum strategy, student learning outcomes and assessment, tutoring and supplemental academic support, instruction, and faculty professional development.
• Develop and maintain student pathways and degree maps within the School, ensuring students can access the courses and programs needed to reach economic security and success.
• Oversee School programs and faculty, administrators and staff across geographic locations, ensuring consistency of offerings and a seamless student experience.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external organizations to build capacity for experiential learning and employment pipelines for completers.
• Coordinate with Academic Services to provide students access to tailored academic resources, including library and tutoring support.
• Ensure curriculum and program excellence through benchmarking and assessment of School and community needs.
• Complete required Dallas College professional development hours each academic year.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
