Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking a Turnaround Mechanical Planner to join our Project Controls Team and be placed at a jobsite in Monaca, PA. The role requires experience in equipment, piping, structural steel, and light civil work, with responsibilities including scope walkthroughs, labor-hour estimation, and developing work plans.

Qualifications include 2 years of field planning, 4 years of craft experience or a related BS degree, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Two years field planning experience in industrial maintenance, capital projects or outages/turnarounds.
• Four years of jobsite mechanical craft experience or BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or related curriculum.
• NCCER certification, craft journeyman, or foreman is a plus.
• Strong background in piping and/or structural work scope planning.
• Able to estimate material and labor quantities from drawings for multiple crafts.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; computer-based tools.
• Experience with Turner planning software is a plus.
• Committed to safety and environmental excellence.
• Able to work independently and in teams; strong communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review specs and drawings to determine scope of work and required estimates.
• Prepare estimates by complete takeoffs of scope, materials, and labor plus outside services.
• Incorporate historical data into estimates and produce man-hour estimates.
• Estimate extras, change orders, and discovery work items; maintain backup files.
