Job summary

Transdev North America in Carson City, NV seeks a General Manager to lead safe, reliable transit operations and drive financial performance. You will oversee staff, contracts, and risk while aligning with client needs and local regulations.

The role requires at least 5 years of fixed-route or paratransit leadership, strong budgeting, and proven union relations skills. Competitive compensation, benefits, and a focus on safety and community engagement are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of a four year college degree; a combination of relevant experience and education considered.
• Experience in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience managing a fixed route or paratransit operation of similar size and scope.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Transit system regulations and operations.
• Ability to build solid working relationships with clients.
• Ability to manage cost control and financial budget.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Understanding of transportation technology.
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Labor relations with unions including negotiations.
• DOT drug testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Continuously builds relationships with employees, the client, union partners, and the local community.
• According to location/client contract, sets commercial and operational strategic direction for the business unit team.
• Leads the management team and employee workforce to achieve safety, service, and financial objectives.
• Identifies, suggests, and develops business growth opportunities.
• Optimizes return on assets including scheduling, maintenance, and performance management.
• Identifies and analyzes KPIs to maintain positive results.
• Ensures services are within budget with action plans to improve efficiency.
• Determines and delivers the business unit budget.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and corporate safety standards.
• Oversees staff management and development training.
• Ensures environmental compliance and sustainability management.
