Job summary

Lincoln County is seeking a Transit Department Director to oversee the Transit Department, including administration, policy development, budgeting, and supervision of staff and drivers in Newport, Oregon. The role reports to the County Administrator and aligns with Board directives.

The Director will manage $10.5 million budget, supervise 25-28 staff, and ensure compliance with FTA drug/alcohol programs, while coordinating Dial-a-Ride and bus services to serve coastal communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
• Five years of public transit related experience, including program development and management, grant writing, budget development and oversight, supervision of employees and volunteers.
• CCTM certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Oregon Driver’s License required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the County Administrator, the Transit Department Director manages the department and supervises all employees.
• Plans and manages the annual operating budget and work plans.
• Acts as Federal Transit Administration Drug & Alcohol Program Manager.
