Job summary

The Green Technology Group, LLC is seeking a skilled Technical Writer/Editor with a strong background in strategic communications to support VA OIT. The candidate will quickly understand assignments, conduct research, provide relevant content, and adapt to evolving client needs.

A baseline IT understanding and change management exposure are preferred. Responsibilities include distilling complex topics, creating UX copy across platforms, collaborating with executives, and ensuring content quality

Qualifications

• Must have experience editing narrative and graphic products to identify and correct grammatical formatting and logic errors.
• Must have experience using word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and scheduling tools.
• Must have experience meeting with authors and team representatives to review documents and provide final publishable documentation.
• Must be able to explain scientific and technical ideas in simple language for a general audience.
• Proven ability to distill complex research into short, compelling narratives.
• Experience collaborating with authors to resolve comments and produce publishable material.
• Proven capacity to create, edit, or improve briefings and visual materials (charts, graphs, PowerPoint, info graphics).
• Advanced writing and editing skills; adept at multi-channel communication.

Responsibilities

• Conducts research for initiatives and creates content for CIO, CTO, and engineering teams.
• Distills complex topics into plain language for varied audiences.
• Creates strategic UX copy across platforms that is clear and concise.
• Collaborates with executives and IT groups to build a content framework for ongoing improvements.
• Repurposes content for diverse audiences and uses.
• Performs quality control of content.
• Translates data into user‑friendly text for print and digital publications (SharePoint, portals, websites, podcasts).
• Suggests layouts, graphics, tables, or charts to clarify objectives.
• Edits narrative and graphics to fix errors and inconsistencies.
