KEB America, Inc. seeks a Technical Buyer to source and procure technical components, materials, and services to support manufacturing and operations.

You will work with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Logistics, and Suppliers to ensure on-time delivery while maintaining quality and driving continuous improvements. Responsibilities

  • Source and procure technical components, raw materials, assemblies, equipment and services for operational requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier pricing, lead times, performance and capacity for reliable supply.
  • Set up and maintain main data in SAP
  • Generate, create, alter, and cancel purchase orders
  • Obtain PO confirmations from suppliers to SAP
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments for direct or indirect material
  • Determine whether air or sea freight is necessary for international vendors
  • Obtain quotes for and source items/services
  • Update POs with inbound goods status to KEB America
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Follow up on or expedite purchase orders
  • Create and update vendor information
  • Assist in part change/new part creation
  • Purchasing/procurement/planning projects as assigned
  • Follow safety rules and keep a clean/orderly workspace
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

About this position

Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Technical Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing supply of technical and engineered components, materials, and services required to support manufacturing and business operations. This role will work closely with a variety of departments including Engineering, Operations, Quality, Logistics, and Suppliers to ensure materials are available, meet quality standards, follow on-time delivery while supporting continuous improvement activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Source and procure technical components, raw materials, assemblies, equipment and services in support of operational requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier pricing, lead times, overall performance, and capacity to ensure reliable supply.
  • Set up and maintain main data in SAP
  • Generate, create, alter, and cancel purchase orders
  • Obtain and enter purchase order confirmations from suppliers to SAP
  • Coordinate with suppliers and KEB departments for direct or indirect material
  • Determine whether air freight or sea freight is necessary for goods coming from international vendors
  • Obtain quotes for and source items /services
  • Update purchase orders to reflect current information regarding the status of inbound goods to KEB America
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Follow up on or expedite purchase orders
  • Create and update vendor information
  • Assist in the part change process
  • Assist in new part creation
  • Purchasing, procurement, or planning projects/tasks as assigned
  • Follow safety rules and keep clean/orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Requirements:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, certifications, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations or a related discipline. A technical background particularly in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering is highly preferred.

Or

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a related field.
