Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking a Tax Project Manager to join our Florida team. You will participate in internal and management reporting for tax forecasts, analyze cash tax payments, tax credits, and coordinate with other departments on income statements and tax accounts.

You will lead tax-related projects, prepare tax returns and work papers, research tax laws and rulings, and guide project teams to improve quality and transparency. This role requires a bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 6+ years of experience in tax, accounting or related field.
• Master's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages tax related projects, including system maintenance and/or development
• Prepares and/or reviews tax returns and corresponding tax work papers and files
• Researches law, regulations, administrative rulings and court cases and presents proposals to lawfully minimize tax liability
• Researches and drafts responses to inquiries from government agencies regarding tax filings,and other claims
• Provides and/or verifies tax assumptions and tax results in project models
• Leads project teams to improve quality, efficiency, predictability and/or transparency
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
