Job summary

Kemper CPA Group LLP is seeking a Tax Manager in its Livermore, California office. The role requires leading tax engagements, supervising staff, and communicating with clients to ensure compliant and timely tax reporting.

The successful candidate will bring a CPA designation with at least 5 years of supervisory tax experience in a public accounting setting, and will contribute to team development while supporting firm growth.

Qualifications

• CPA designation with a minimum of 5 years of tax experience in a supervisory capacity within a regional or national public accounting environment.
• Ability to coordinate staff and client expectations by planning assignments, resolving issues, communicating outcomes, and developing staff.
• Proficiency in budgeting and managing engagements, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Tech literacy to contribute to assignments and leverage firm tools.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written, with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or review federal, state, local, and special tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and/or review financial statements, reports, and records.
• Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing education and professional involvement.
• Promote efficient engagement execution while fostering positive client relationships.
• Represent the firm in professional, civic, or charitable activities to enhance visibility.
• Manage assigned book of business within budgeted revenue and realization targets.
• Develop and coach staff to support firm growth and client service.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
