Job summary

Kemper CPA Group LLP in Livermore, CA is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant with 3–5 years of tax experience in a public accounting setting. This advanced non-management role focuses on tax engagements and client service, with opportunities to mentor staff and interact directly with clients.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Accounting, CPA designation, and strong skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Some overtime is expected during peak seasons and a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3–5 years of public accounting tax experience.
• CPA designation is required.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and technology skills to complete assignments.
• Strong verbal and written communication with clients & staff; able to mentor interns and newer staff.
• Ability to work under time constraints and take ownership of assigned work.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and analytical skills in tax engagements.

Responsibilities

• Complete moderately complex federal, state, local, and special tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates independently and with minimal direction.
• Comply with federal, state, and local requirements and communicate with partners, staff, and clients to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting.
• Prepare and/or review financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintain professional standards and technical knowledge through workshops, seminars, publications, personal networks, and/or professional societies.
• Contribute to the overall success of the firm and staff by promoting efficient execution throughout the engagement while cultivating positive client relationships.
• Research issues and respond to client and staff questions in a simple, understandable fashion.
• Manage multiple client requests in an efficient and timely manner.
• Additional duties as assigned.
