Job summary

Steinway & Sons is seeking a Tax & Accounting Manager to support the Chief Accounting Officer across corporate reporting, divisional accounting, and tax planning. The role collaborates with the Global Leadership Team, FP&A, HR and Legal to strengthen controls and drive process improvements.

The ideal candidate has CPA credentials, 7+ years in public accounting, and strong US GAAP experience. This on-site position offers a comprehensive benefits package and room to influence global finance

Qualifications

• CPA is required for this role and demonstrates professional standing.
• 7+ years of experience in public accounting are required.
• Strong US GAAP background is essential for reporting and analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders.
• Ability to plan, multi-task, collaborate, and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the global monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Ensure compliance with Company accounting policies and US GAAP.
• Support pension accounting and disclosure reporting.
• Lead annual insurance renewal data collection and validation with global teams.
• Prepare consolidated tax provisions and manage year-end tax provision documentation.
• Coordinate with external tax consultants and manage tax extensions and payments.
• Maintain transfer pricing documentation for domestic and international regulations.
• Assist in developing tax strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Assist with internal control documentation and policy maintenance.
• Prepare annual asset impairment testing analyses and engage auditors as needed.
• Produce management reports for the Global Leadership Team and finance organization.
