Job summary

Steinway & Sons is seeking a Tax & Accounting Manager to support the Chief Accounting Officer across financial reporting, tax compliance, and process improvements. You will lead pension reporting, tax provisions, and external auditor coordination while collaborating with Global Leadership, FP&A, HR, and Legal.

The role requires CPA and 7+ years in public accounting with strong US GAAP knowledge. Location is Astoria, Oregon, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• CPA required with active status.
• 7+ years’ experience in public accounting.
• Strong US GAAP background.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
• Experience with international and manufacturing accounting a plus.
• Experience with Sage Fixed Assets, LeaseQuery, Planful, MS Business Central and MS Dynamics a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the global monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and accounting policies.
• Support pension accounting and disclosure reporting.
• Coordinate year-end tax provision and related footnote disclosures.
• Lead external tax consultants and tax filing activities.
• Maintain transfer pricing documentation for compliance.
• Assist with internal controls documentation and policy maintenance.
• Prepare management reports for Global Leadership Team.
• Engage auditors on accounting matters and respond to data requests.
• Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc analysis.
