Job summary

Colorado Community College System seeks a Purchasing Director to lead system-wide purchasing, aligning State Purchasing Office standards with college offices. You will oversee procurement for all goods and services for the CCCS, coordinating contracts and risk management with the legal department.

You will guide staff, develop policies, and supervise complex purchasing projects across Colorado’s CCCS colleges, ensuring compliance and efficiencies systemwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; combination of education and experience may substitute.
• Three years of progressively responsible purchasing management experience in state/local government or higher education.

Responsibilities

• Act as Senior Authority to administer purchasing processes for the System Office and ensure compliance with State Fiscal Rules and Procurement Code.
• Conduct solicitations for the System Office and coordinate system-wide cooperative solicitations.
• Provide training to System Office staff on procurement requirements and processes.
• Guide college managers on contract development and vendor agreements; advise on fiscal-impact concerns.
• Evaluate policies to reflect State Procurement Code and internal controls across the system.
• Maintain involvement in statewide procurement activities and SPCO meetings.
• Review, process, and approve purchase orders.
• Develop/compose contracts and negotiate with businesses on behalf of the colleges.
