Job summary

The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) seeks a Purchasing Director to lead the Fiscal team’s procurement across all CCCS colleges. The role focuses on aligning purchasing practices with State Fiscal Rules and Procurement Code, while coordinating contract processing and risk management with the legal department.

You will train staff, oversee solicitations, and serve as the primary liaison between the State Purchasing Office and CCCS college purchasing offices, ensuring systemwide efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible purchasing management experience in state or local government and/or higher education.
• Familiarity with State Fiscal Rules, Procurement Code, and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Administer purchasing processes for the System Office and ensure compliance with State Fiscal Rules and Procurement Code.
• Lead solicitations for the System Office and coordinate system-wide cooperative solicitations.
• Provide training and guidance to System Office staff and college managers on procurement requirements and processes.
• Develop contracts and negotiate with vendors on behalf of the colleges as needed.
• Advise on policy and procedure development to reflect current regulations and internal controls.
