Job summary

Bloomberg L.P. seeks a strategic, hands-on Sustainability Manager to lead operational, reporting, and market-based sustainability functions. Reporting to the Sustainability Officer, you will balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution while directing a 4-person team.

You will own the Decarbonization Plan across Scope 1-3, manage climate risk, and drive governance-ready ESG disclosures while collaborating with internal and external partners to advance Bloomberg's sustainability agenda.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related quantitative field or equivalent.
• 8+ years in corporate sustainability, decarbonization, ESG reporting, or sustainable operations.
• Proven track record as a player-coach or team lead managing contributors in fast-paced environments.
• Experience designing enterprise Decarbonization Plans, including marginal abatement cost modeling and Scope 1-3 reductions.
• Ability to build high-trust relationships and influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience in climate stress testing, physical/transition climate risk assessments, or scenario analyses.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to distill complex topics for senior leadership.
• Experience coordinating enterprise sustainability reporting with accounting/financial reporting teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution for a 4-person team with mentorship and direction.
• Own and execute the firm’s enterprise Decarbonization Plan with roadmaps and milestones.
• Cultivate stakeholder relationships across internal and external partners for alignment.
• Participate in climate stress testing and scenario analyses to assess resiliency.
• Prepare and deliver executive briefings and decision frameworks for senior management.
• Oversee enterprise ESG reporting and ensure data integrity and audit readiness.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate requirements into actionable strategy.
• Lead change-management efforts across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Manage environmental markets, including carbon accounting and asset procurement.
• Maintain and improve carbon balance sheet and sustainability data infrastructure.
