Job summary

Butcher Power Products is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to own external quality relationships with suppliers and customers. You will drive containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions to ensure material meets design and performance specs.

You’ll lead supplier qualification, audits, and performance scorecards while partnering with Product Engineering and Supply Chain to secure approved sources and continuous improvement across the supply base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years in manufacturing quality roles.
• Experience managing supplier and/or customer corrective actions (8D, SCARs).
• Experience with PPAP and APQP submissions.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Proficiency with quality tools (SPC, FMEA, control plans, root cause analysis).
• Familiarity with electrical components, raw materials (sheet metal, bussing) and safety listings (e.g., UL).
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Own supplier quality for purchased materials and resolve supplier-caused failures.
• Lead SCARs, 8D, and verify corrective-action effectiveness.
• Conduct supplier qualification, evaluation, and ASL input.
• Participate in supplier audits and assess ISO 9001 compliance.
• Manage customer complaints and supplier-related customer scorecards.
• Support internal management reviews and continuous improvement.
