Briggs & Stratton is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure the quality of purchased items across new products, processes, and changes to regulatory requirements. You will analyze data, drive corrective actions, and improve control plans to eliminate defects.

You will implement quality system procedures, develop supplier quality initiatives, and support supplier activities such as Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, and audits.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelors of science in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of related quality or engineering experience; machining/assembly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of QMS and ISO/QS requirements.
• Strong knowledge of SPC, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, and DOE.
• GD&T and blueprint reading proficiency.
• Experience with mechanical/electronic/assembly processes and troubleshooting.
• Ability to prepare and interpret technical information.
• Fluent English and strong communication with diverse groups.

Aufgaben

• Implements quality system procedures and suggests improvements; ensures procedures are followed.
• Develops quality initiatives to attain customer satisfaction and focus.
• Supports suppliers on quality activities such as Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, and checklists.
• Provides technical expertise to purchasing function.
• Acts as liaison with Briggs and Stratton suppliers on quality issues; presents trend data.
• Participates in supplier development activities and corrective actions.
• Analyzes data on finished products and consumer complaints; recommends corrective actions.
• Performs supplier PPAP and gains project team approval.
• Completes Suppliers’ Process Audit and Key Product Audit and follows up with improvement plans.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
