Job summary

Briggs & Stratton, LLC in Statesboro, GA seeks a Quality Engineer to lead moderately complex quality assignments and analyze data to meet standards. You will drive product/process capability studies, lead problem solving and develop control plans and FMEA with cross-functional teams.

You will liaison with suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring GD&T, SPC and APQP practices are applied and actions verified for effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 3 years of related experience in engineering, purchasing or quality field.
• Fundamental quality experience in machining or assembly type operations.
• Enterprise wide reporting system experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to prepare and present technical information.
• Thorough knowledge of quality and manufacturing processes including GD&T, layout and gaging; machining methods and assembly processes as well as SPC.
• Knowledge of APQP tools including FMEA and control plans.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills; time management and organizational abilities.
• Team-oriented and self-driven with initiative.
• Fluent in English and location language.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderately complex quality assurance assignments and projects; participates in new models development process; performs QMS documentation activities.
• Coordinates product/process capability studies.
• Leads problem solving teams; identifies root causes, implements corrective actions and verifies effectiveness.
• Develops product/process procedures including development of performance metrics.
• Performs statistical analysis used in problem solving, quality improvement projects & Six Sigma teams.
• Performs layouts, reads and understands GD&T.
• Investigates customer complaints, develops corrective action plans and verifies effectiveness.
• Leads FMEA teams and develops Control Plans.
• Serves as a liaison between supplier and Briggs & Stratton in quality activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
