Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Atlanta is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to help ensure the quality of critical materials before production. You will collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive quality improvement and prevent issues.

In this role, you will lead PPAPs, conduct supplier audits, analyze data with FMEA/SPC, and implement corrective actions to sustain supplier performance and product reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or engineering environments.
• Experience in supplier quality or supplier development activities.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in FMEA, SPC, or root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of quality systems, standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Effective communication skills and ability to influence across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify critical-to-quality components and assess risks using FMEA methodologies.
• Partner with suppliers to strengthen process controls and prevent quality issues.
• Lead resolution of supplier nonconformances and drive root cause solutions.
• Execute Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to ensure consistent quality.
• Perform supplier audits and verify material compliance through inspections.
• Monitor supplier performance and analyze quality data trends.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support sourcing and quality strategies.
• Represent supplier insights to internal teams to improve specifications and outcomes.
