Job summary

HealthPartners is seeking a Subrogation Specialist to manage routine and complex subrogation cases, evaluating liability, causation, and contractual rights. You will negotiate, advocate, and analyze legal matters to maximize recovery while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.

Ideal candidates possess strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. The role requires independent decision making and reliable attendance, with opportunity for local travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Paralegal, Insurance, or Health-related field or seven (7) years of related experience.
• Five (5) or more years of insurance litigation or subrogation program experience.
• Demonstrates an understanding of tort theories and subrogation principles.
• Ability to review and interpret medical reports, contractual language, statutory law, and case law.

Responsibilities

• Case Management & Legal Analysis: pursue subrogation claims to a successful conclusion and maintain complete case files.
• Settlement Authority: evaluate and settle subrogation claims with independent judgment.
• External Communication & Representation: draft professional correspondence and represent HealthPartners in settlements and mediations.
• Internal Coordination: collaborate with Claims Departments and provide subrogation guidance to the team.
