Job summary

The Building People, LLC has a full-time Communications Specialist opening on the U.S. Department of Energy's CMEI communications team.

The role supports internal and external stakeholder engagement for CMEI Technology Programs and communicates the office's mission and activities, including for the Federal Energy Management Program. The specialist will lead strategic stakeholder planning, create engagement profiles, and coordinate with leadership and the broader communications team to advance

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience; Master’s Degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree considered for substitution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong writing/editing skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Leads stakeholder engagement strategic planning and implementation, identifying priority stakeholders, goals, outreach tactics, and outcomes.
• Creates and maintains a system for tracking agency engagements to help prioritize agencies, regions, sites.
• Develops federal agency profiles showing performance, challenges, use of programs, and opportunities.
• Facilitates senior leadership meetings and strategic planning.
• Supports federal clients in building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders.
• Identifies opportunities to increase reach to target audiences and analyzes tactics to develop best practices.
• Maintains awareness of CMEI programs and coordinates with communications team on strategic initiatives.
• Prepares briefing summaries for CMEI leadership on stakeholder events and activities.
• Organizes conferences, workshops, interagency meetings, and other program meetings with summary documents.
