Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is recruiting two Staffing Representatives to join the HR team supporting ~1,300 employees in the Metro District. You will handle staffing services, classification, compensation guidance, recruitment, selection, and workforce planning to support organizational goals.

Responsibilities include advising on position descriptions, evaluating classifications, developing hiring strategies, managing postings, and ensuring policy and labor agreement compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience performing professional HR functions.
• Experience in job evaluation/analysis.
• Coordinating recruitment, hiring, and selection.
• Using HRIS such as PeopleSoft, Workday, ADP, etc.
• Advising on employment laws, rules, and collective bargaining agreements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with managers to understand staffing needs and provide practical solutions.
• Advise leaders on position descriptions and classification processes.
• Evaluate positions to determine accurate classifications and prepare audit docs.
• Develop hiring strategies with recruiters to attract strong applicants.
• Manage postings, review materials, and guide interview practices.
• Guide supervisors on labor agreements, compensation frameworks, and policies.
• Consult on workforce planning and organizational structure for long-term staffing.
