Job summary

The Department of Astronomy at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is hiring a Sponsored Research Grants Coordinator to manage all pre-award and post-award aspects of sponsored research for our investigators. You will liaise with the Astronomy Business Office, SPA, and sponsors across diverse research areas, ensuring compliance and accurate budgeting.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a related field and demonstrated experience in sponsored research administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a field related to the position.
• Demonstrated professional work experience in sponsored research administration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison for pre-award and post-award sponsored research activities.
• Develop budgets and applications using Research.gov, Grants.gov, NASA NSPIRES and other sponsors.
• Monitor expenditures and advise on use of research funding per sponsor terms and regulations.
• Verify subrecipients' scope of work and final billing; ensure regulatory compliance.
