Job summary

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, within The Grainger College of Engineering, seeks an Assistant Director of Research Administration in the Mechanical Science and Engineering department. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of five years of work experience in research administration in a university setting.
• Experience with Decision Support Data Warehouse and Banner.
• Experience managing complex pre-awards and post-award sponsored research activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to faculty and PIs for preparation and submission of proposals.
• Lead large, multi-institutional proposal submissions to federal sponsors.
• Coordinate with Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) for submissions and award negotiations.
• Support post-award financial management, compliance monitoring, and closeout activities.
• Supervise, train, and mentor research administration personnel.
• Oversee expenditure confirmations and internal reporting.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a field related to the position

Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
