Job summary

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking an experienced Award Management professional to support funded research programs across pre-award and post-award phases. You will collaborate with faculty and principal investigators to manage budgets, forecasts, and accounts, ensuring compliance with sponsor and university guidelines.

In this role you will liaise with SPA Award Management, assist with grant setup, budgeting, subaward billing, and project closeouts, and help ensure timely,

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty on management of funded research projects and accounts, including preparation of financial forecasts.
• Consult on management of personnel budgets, and expenditures through review and approval of proposed appointments and redistributing appointments.
• Prepare statements and reports for faculty and principal investigators.
• Serve as a liaison to SPA Award Management and assist with grant account setup, budgeting, subaward billing, billing and closeout activities.
• Ensure that completed projects are closed timely and in accordance with award terms.
• Review accounts for integrity, accuracy and allowability of transactions per budgets and sponsor guidelines.
• Assist with labor redistributions and journal vouchers to allocate expenses to proper funds.
• Assist PIs with expenditure confirmations for sponsored and Federal Hatch projects to obtain certifications.
• Prepare budget requests to SPA to establish explosion funds for co-PIs on sponsored projects.
• Request anticipation funds for awarded projects and no-cost extensions or budget revisions as needed.
• Work with department personnel to ensure funded project accounts are established in a timely manner.
