Job summary

MITRE Corporation is seeking a technical leader for wireless communications engineering and spectrum-related analysis in support of national security missions. The role focuses on research, design, analysis, evaluation, and sponsor decision support rather than production networks.

You will lead spectrum harmonization efforts, develop regulatory contributions, and build models using MATLAB/Visualyse/SEAMCAT/Atoll/iQ-link/HTZ. A Secret clearance and on-site presence are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s; or 6 years with a Master’s; or PhD with 3 years’ experience.
  • Experience analyzing spectrum policy and regulations and developing strategies related to spectrum management and emerging wireless technologies.
  • Strong RF engineering fundamentals, including propagation and interference analysis.
  • Ability to model spectrum compatibility/coexistence studies using tools such as MATLAB, Visualyse, SEAMCAT, Atoll, iQ-link, or HTZ.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical leadership audiences.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. citizen required.
  • Minimum of 3 days a week on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead wireless communications engineering, spectrum analysis, standards support, and technical assessment activities.
  • Develop, review, and defend technical contributions and positions for sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute interference, propagation, and link-budget studies for harmonization and regulatory activities.
  • Model potential interference and document protection criteria and mitigation options.
  • Build and validate study models using MATLAB, Visualyse, SEAMCAT, Atoll, iQ-link, and HTZ.
  • Produce concise leadership summaries and executive briefings for government sponsors.
