Job summary

Cambrex Charles City is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to lead strategic sourcing across raw materials, equipment, and services for our growing facility. You will identify multiple sources, obtain quotes, and support new product development with cost-effective supplier options.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree, 3+ years of materials management or procurement experience, and strong negotiation skills.

Qualifications

Knowledge of and ability to operate Microsoft Suite.
Associate degree in business management or related field. High school diploma required, Bachelor degree beneficial
Three or more years of experience in materials management or new project management involving procuring new raw materials
Experience negotiating pricing, contracts or other services.

Responsibilities

Source materials and services for existing and new supply chain opportunities.
Identify multiple sources for key raw materials.
Work with vendors, secure samples and formal price quotes for purchasing consideration.
Work with Materials Director, negotiate material pricing for new and existing materials or services.
Work with Project Managers and Chemical Development staff, source/price new raw materials and other services needed to support new product development efforts.
Work with the Buyer and act as back-up for buyer in their absence.
Host vendor visits and meetings.
