Job summary

Trex Company in Winchester, VA is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist II to develop category strategies, create bid packages, and analyze market data to ensure best value for materials and services. You will be a key member of the Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain team, responsible for executing sourcing strategies and negotiating with suppliers.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in business or related field, 3–5 years of procurement experience, and ISM certification a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required; Institute of Supply Management certification a plus.
  • Three to five years of supply chain, sourcing or procurement experience required
  • Relevant work or military service will be considered

We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist II to support our team by helping Trex develop category strategy, create bid packages, analyze proposal and market data to ensure the best value for purchased materials and services.

As a Trex Strategic Sourcing Specialist II you’ll be a key member of our Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn, develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned areas of spend
  • Research, Identify and qualify best value sources of supply using market data and cost modeling for existing products and new product development
  • Effectively communicate category knowledge, updates, recommendations and supplier performance
  • Identify, escalate and resolve areas of risk to ensure continuity of supply
  • Develop ideation and deliver annual cost savings initiatives
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation and contracting skills that build strong supplier and stakeholder relationships

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required and an Institute of Supply Management certification a plus. Three-to-five years of supply chain, sourcing or procurement experience is also required

Base Salary Range $70,000-$90,000 annually

The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual/sales bonus, in addition to the base salary.
