Job summary

Xometry is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to coordinate and place orders that fall outside our standard automated workflows. You’ll manage complex or escalated manufacturing projects, perform in‑depth technical reviews, and work with suppliers, customers, engineers, and internal teams to identify feasible solutions.

The role requires strong analytical thinking and a solid background in sourcing or procurement, with experience reading engineering drawings and GD&T.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply-chain management in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and basic GD&T.
• Strong written and verbal communication for coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of advanced sourcing cases requiring detailed technical or pricing analysis and follow-up.
• Investigate root causes preventing supplier acceptance and develop recovery strategies.
• Review technical documentation and drawings with engineers, clients, or manufacturers to validate feasibility and risks.
• Collaborate with design engineers, case managers, and sales to resolve technical or scheduling concerns.
• Communicate with suppliers and customers to clarify requirements, negotiate terms, and align expectations.
• Maintain comprehensive case notes for leadership visibility and continuity across escalations.
• Provide guidance to Sourcing Coordinators for complex situations.
