Job summary

Xometry is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to manually coordinate and place orders outside standard automated workflows. You will manage complex projects across CNC machining, sheet-metal, and additive manufacturing, partnering with suppliers, customers, engineers, and internal teams to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.

The role demands strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to explain technical requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in sourcing or supply-chain within manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Experience resolving complex supplier or production challenges.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality results under time constraints.
• Comfortable making independent decisions within pricing and policy parameters.
• Strong curiosity for manufacturing and desire to expand technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of advanced sourcing cases requiring detailed technical or pricing analysis and follow-up.
• Investigate root causes preventing supplier acceptance and develop targeted recovery strategies.
• Review technical documentation and drawings with engineers, clients, or manufacturers to validate feasibility and risks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design engineers, case managers, and sales to resolve technical or scheduling concerns.
• Communicate with suppliers and customers to clarify requirements, negotiate terms, and align expectations.
• Maintain comprehensive case notes to ensure leadership visibility and continuity across escalations.
• Provide guidance to Sourcing Coordinators for complex or unfamiliar situations.
