Job summary

Lucifer Lighting Company in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to develop and execute sourcing strategies that support new product development, production requirements, cost competitiveness, and supplier performance. • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Finance, Operations, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, materials, and product categories.
• Lead sourcing lead for new product development projects.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard new suppliers.
• Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities through supplier negotiations, value engineering, and sourcing initiatives.
• Monitor supplier performance including on-time delivery, quality, lead time, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
• Manage RFQs, quote analysis, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and supply agreements.
• Develop and maintain alternate sources to reduce supply risk.
• Monitor market conditions, supplier capacity, and material availability trends.
• Lead supplier business reviews and performance improvement initiatives.
• Support supplier risk assessments and mitigation plans.
• Manage supplier VMI programs to ensure optimal inventory levels and material availability.
• Conduct regular supplier reviews to evaluate VMI performance and compliance.

Summary:

This position works closely with Engineering, Planning, Operations, Quality, and Product Management to source materials, manage suppliers, support new product introductions, and ensure continuity of supply.
