Job summary

Columbia Woodworking is seeking a hands-on Sourcing & Purchasing Manager to lead day-to-day purchasing and drive improvements in sourcing and material planning. You will collaborate with Project Management, Estimating, Production, and vendors to anticipate needs and ensure on-time project delivery.

The role emphasizes strategic supplier management, risk mitigation, and data-driven improvements in material availability and pricing, in a project-based manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years purchasing experience, incl. 2+ years in made-to-order manufacturing or project-based purchasing.
• Experience with bills of materials, production schedules, forecasts, project requirements, inventory, and material planning.
• Negotiation experience with suppliers and managing supplier performance, terms and service quality.

Responsibilities

• Own purchasing execution to support project schedules, production requirements, and delivery dates.
• Lead supplier negotiations and resolve delivery, quality, pricing, and service issues.
• Source new materials, vendors, and methods to improve cost efficiency and availability.
• Maintain inventory levels and collaborate with internal teams to improve planning inputs and material visibility.
• Use ERP/MRP and purchasing data to manage lead times, order status, and documentation.
