Job summary

Vulcan Industries is seeking a Director of Strategic Sourcing & Project Execution in Moody, AL. This senior role oversees estimating, procurement, supplier management, and cost modeling to drive profitable growth and a resilient global supply chain.

Reporting to the President, the director will lead engineering, estimating, and purchasing, ensuring cost competitiveness, risk management, and scalable processes. Extensive travel to Asia is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 10+ years in sourcing, procurement, estimating, or supply chain leadership.
• 5+ years in leadership roles managing professional and technical teams.
• Proven track record in relationship ownership, commercial negotiation, and performance management.
• Working knowledge of UFLPA, Section 301/IEEPA tariffs, and ERP/MRP platforms.
• Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems for costing, procurement and reporting.
• Up to 25% travel, including semi-annual travel to Asia.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing, estimating, and procurement strategies for growth and profitability.
• Partner with executives to set goals, cost reductions, and long-term supply chain plans.
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
• Establish KPIs across estimating, engineering, purchasing, and supplier management.
• Drive efficiency to scale operations while controlling costs.
• Lead the estimating function to deliver accurate, profitable quotations.
• Standardize estimating methodologies, costing models, and pricing frameworks.
• Oversee material, labor, freight, tooling, inventory, and tariff cost assumptions in estimates.
• Identify value engineering opportunities with Sales and Engineering to improve margins.
• Conduct post-project cost reviews and variance analysis for pricing accuracy.
• Monitor margin performance and drive profitability through sourcing and design changes.
