Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Irving, TX seeks an experienced procurement specialist to own end-to-end purchasing of direct materials and services, review requisitions, evaluate bids and place POs, while leveraging the MRP system to align buys with demand.

You will manage NPIs and EOL last-time buys, target on-time delivery, inventory health and cost variances, analyze forecast accuracy and maintain standard costs, resolving supply issues and driving supplier performance.

Qualifications

  • 4–7 years of direct material buying experience.
  • Proficiency with MRP and SAP.
  • Strong analysis using Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Expertise in procurement, inventory, and supplier management.
  • Independent, organized, and effective across multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented problem solver; familiar with supply chain policies, procedures, and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end purchasing for direct materials and services: review requisitions, evaluate vendor bids, and place POs.
  • Leverage the MRP system to drive timely buys and adjust to changing demand signals.
  • Manage procurement across NPIs and existing products; plan and execute last-time buys for EOL items.
  • Hit service and cost targets: on-time delivery, inventory health, and purchase price variance.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy and publish insights to guide planning and execution.
  • Maintain standard cost data for assigned parts and support quoting/sourcing to enhance supply continuity and reduce cost.
  • Resolve supply issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Oversee supplier performance through reviews and targeted improvement plans.

Your MandateSafeguard material availability and cost discipline for a fast-moving manufacturing operation. You will convert demand into supply, stabilize new product ramps, and elevate supplier performance—all while maintaining audit readiness and data accuracy.Core ResponsibilitiesExecute end-to-end purchasing for direct materials and services: review requisitions, evaluate vendor bids, and place POs.Leverage the MRP system to drive timely buys and adjust to changing demand signals.Manage procurement across NPIs and existing products; plan and execute last-time buys for EOL items.Hit service and cost targets: on-time delivery, inventory health, and purchase price variance.Analyze forecast accuracy and publish insights to guide planning and execution.Maintain standard cost data for assigned parts and support quoting/sourcing to enhance supply continuity and reduce cost.Resolve supply issues (shortages, allocations, discrepancies) using root cause analysis and corrective actions.Oversee supplier performance through reviews and targeted improvement plans.Own KPI visibility and action plans: OTD, PO acknowledgments, past due shipments, and more.Support ISO/internal audit readiness and close out findings.Advance continuous improvement—especially data integrity and parameter management.First 90 Days FocusStabilize priority part families and clear past-dues.Align suppliers to acknowledgment and delivery expectations.Verify planning parameters and standard costs for top drivers.Qualifications4–7 years of direct material buying experience, ideally in manufacturing.Proficiency with MRP and SAP.Strong analysis using Excel or Google Sheets.Expertise in procurement, inventory, and supplier management.Independent, organized, and effective across multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Detail-oriented problem solver; familiar with supply chain policies, procedures, and ISO standards.Preferred BackgroundBachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).Experience in electronic manufacturing.LogisticsPay Rate: $36/hourWork Arrangement: On-site (Not Remote)Schedule: 1st shiftStatus: Temp to hire
