Job summary

Bunzl Distribution NA is seeking a Market Sourcing Manager to lead vendor negotiations, price setting, and product strategy for Grocery, Food Service, Janitorial and Packaging lines. You will drive core item selection, regional inventory decisions, and cost reductions through local supplier partnerships.

The role is onsite in Kansas City, MO, with a flexible option to work from home 1–2 days per month. Requires strong negotiation and market analysis skills with 5+ years’ experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's strongly preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in price negotiations and stakeholder influence.
• Knowledge of the distribution environment and supplier selection processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate price and terms with manufacturers and suppliers.
• Product selection and sourcing.
• Develop market expertise to support assortment strategy and pricing.
• Monitor market intelligence and local needs to improve pricing and positioning.
• Develop pricing policies and negotiate best-cost vendor programs.
• Rationalize and consolidate product lines to improve inventory turns and margins.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance initiatives.
• Lead multiple projects and meet defined timelines.
• Collaborate with sales on product requirements and go-to-market speed.
• Identify opportunities for new packaging products.
