Job summary

3M is seeking a Strategic Category & Sourcing Leader to drive direct and indirect procurement in a highly regulated environment. You will lead category managers and partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, R&D, IT, and Facilities to align sourcing with business goals.

Based in Monroe, NC, this on-site role involves collaboration across functions, cost and risk management, and supporting new product introductions. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher completed before start.
• Seven years in sourcing, category management, procurement, supply chain, or related fields.
• Five years of experience leading people including managers or professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Sourcing Managers for direct and indirect categories.
• Set strategic direction for category management and sourcing execution across spend areas.
• Ensure sourcing strategies align with cost, quality, service, growth, and risk goals.
• Provide leadership on supplier strategy, performance, and contracts.
• Oversee negotiation, renewal, and extension of supplier agreements.
• Drive supplier performance improvements in quality, delivery, and cost.
• Lead support for new product introductions and PFEP readiness.
