Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Leader to lead and coordinate strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple business units, facilities, spend categories, and project-specific procurement requirements.

This highly visible role will serve as a key commercial and sourcing partner to Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, Project Management, Estimating, Planning, Engineering, Finance, and other functional teams. The successful candidate will bring a strong combination of strategic sourcing expertise, supplier development, commercial negotiation, cost optimization, and data-driven decision-making.

The position will have exposure to a broad range of categories, including direct and indirect materials, MRO, operational and outsourced services, logistics, equipment rentals, fleet-related expenditures, utilities, specialty purchases, and project-specific procurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead company-wide strategic sourcing initiatives across major spend categories, business units, and facilities.
• Develop and implement structured strategic sourcing, RFQ, and RFP methodologies.
• Analyze organizational spend to identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, standardization, negotiation, and sourcing optimization.
• Develop sourcing strategies and roadmaps based on spend, savings potential, operational risk, market dynamics, and business impact.
• Lead competitive bidding processes, supplier evaluations, commercial negotiations, and supplier selection recommendations.
• Identify, qualify, develop, and onboard domestic and international suppliers.
• Develop dual- and multi-sourcing strategies for critical materials and services, including evaluation of Low-Cost Region (LCR) sourcing opportunities.
• Lead sourcing initiatives involving direct materials, indirect materials, MRO, services, logistics, and project-specific purchases.
• Partner with Project Management, Estimating, Engineering, Operations, and Planning to develop procurement strategies that protect cost, availability, quality, and project schedules.
• Drive measurable cost reduction, cost avoidance, PPV improvement, working-capital optimization, supplier consolidation, VA/VE, material substitution, MOQ optimization, and freight/logistics optimization.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, MOQs, Incoterms, service agreements, LTAs, rebates, warranties, volume agreements, and other commercial terms.
• Establish supplier performance expectations and KPIs covering OTD, quality, cost, lead time, responsiveness, service levels, and commercial competitiveness.
• Partner with Logistics to evaluate sourcing decisions using Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and total landed cost rather than purchase price alone.
• Collaborate with Finance and Cost Accounting to validate sourcing savings, analyze PPV trends, and develop sourcing analytics and executive-level reporting.
• Support supply continuity by identifying sourcing risks, developing alternative suppliers, and implementing contingency strategies.

The position also plays an important role in project procurement, including early buyout strategies, procurement planning, supplier commitments, lead-time management, and proactive identification of risks that could affect fabrication, installation, or contractual milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, Material Management, or a related field.
• 5-7+ years of progressive experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Category Management, or Supply Chain.
• Demonstrated experience managing sourcing initiatives across multiple direct and indirect spend categories.
• Strong experience with RFQs/RFPs, competitive bidding, supplier evaluation, and commercial negotiations.
• Proven success delivering measurable cost reductions, cost avoidance, working-capital improvements, and supply optimization initiatives.
• Experience developing and managing suppliers both domestically and internationally.
• Strong understanding of Total Cost of Ownership, landed cost, logistics, inventory, and working-capital concepts.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and suppliers across multiple functions without direct reporting authority.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and project leadership skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office and experience working with MRP/ERP systems.
• Business Intelligence experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is highly desirable.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Availability for domestic and international travel.
