Job summary

Regions is seeking a Procurement Sourcing Category Strategist to manage large, complex sourcing initiatives within a cross-functional team. The role involves leading expense-reduction efforts for selected business units and engaging with senior leaders to achieve business outcomes.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of procurement experience (or 11+ years with a GED). It is an exempt, full-time role located in Birmingham, AL, with eligible incentive pay and a robust benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain/Engineering, Procurement, or related field and seven years of experience in procurement or related field
• Or High School Diploma or GED and eleven years of experience in procurement or related field
• Preferred professional certification in Supply Chain or related field
• MBA or related degree is a plus

Responsibilities

• Utilizes strategic sourcing approach to determine and prepare RFP/competitive bid requirements, solicits responses, analyzes responses, prepares recommendations and negotiates contracts
• Leads strategic sourcing activities for assigned areas and supports cross-functional teams
• Develops recommendations with business stakeholders and sets up RFP in the bank’s P2P system
• Partners with stakeholders and senior leaders to identify expense reduction opportunities with suppliers
• Communicates procurement standards to vendors and business partners
• May serve as team lead or supervise entry level procurement consultants
