Job summary

Textron offers a 10-week, paid summer internship in Georgia focusing on strategic sourcing. You will engage in real procurement projects, learn vendor evaluation, and support cost-reduction initiatives while gaining exposure to supplier management.

Education in progress in supply chain or related field is required, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP preferred. Mentorship and hands-on project work are key parts of the experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage global base.

Responsibilities

• Participate in sourcing activities related to new product launches and current product changes.
• Assist with selecting and managing suppliers.
• Perform make vs. buy analysis to determine optimum supply chain.
• Support supplier transition processes to move work between suppliers or in-house to external providers.
• Support Materials and Quality teams to address supplier delivery and quality issues.
• Coordinate RFQ (Request for Quote) packages with the supply base.
• Contribute to supplier rationalization efforts.
• Assist in identifying and implementing cost reductions as part of VA/VE efforts.
• Assist Accounts Payable as needed to ensure suppliers are paid on time.
