Job summary

Allentown School District is seeking a Director of Procurement to oversee and coordinate district purchasing functions under the supervision of the Business Manager. The director will serve as the primary contact for all procurement-related questions and will plan and purchase to ensure cost effectiveness, efficiency, and adequacy of the procurement process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field (Finance, Accounting, Business, etc.)
• Three (3) years' experience in accounting, finance, purchasing, or related business function.
• Proficiency in the use of technology for management, communication, and research; Strong Excel skills.
• Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate district purchasing functions under the Business Manager.
• Serve as the primary contact for procurement-related questions.
• Plan and purchase to ensure consistency, cost effectiveness, efficiency and adequacy of the procurement process.
• Develop a centralized procurement program and establish guidelines for approving purchase orders and purchasing policies.
• Manage inventory and oversee sources for purchasing supplies.
