Job summary

Filtran is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist in Illinois to drive supplier selection, quotes, and cost-reduction initiatives. You will analyze supplier landscapes, support new quotations, and manage critical supplier documentation.

Responsibilities include negotiating terms, updating sourcing data, and collaborating with operations and sales to optimize the supply chain. Strong Excel and ERP experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and project management skills.
• Knowledge of total cost of ownership and ability to drive projects in a matrix environment.
• Understanding of demand planning, materials management, and QA in production.
• Analytical with data interpretation and decision making.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, charts).
• ERP knowledge and solid negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops performance criteria and measures supplier performance.
• Researches and qualifies suppliers for sustainability.
• Purchases products meeting Filtran's quality and quantity standards.
• Maintains key supply chain and operations information.
• Analyzes data to identify cost reductions and efficiencies.
• Supports cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives.
• Reviews data and recommends supply chain/ops optimizations.
• Participates in make-buy studies.
• Updates Strategic Sourcing Funnel and commodity strategies.
• Develops reporting on cost reductions, transitions, payment terms, inventory.
• Implements inventory optimization strategies.
• Obtains quotes from suppliers and negotiates price, quantity, delivery.
• Works with legal to ensure contract details are captured.
• Assesses quotes and prepares cost breakdown analyses.
• Generates quote comparisons and supplier selections.
• Provides solutions to improve spending and outsourcing.
