Job summary

Kroger in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a procurement professional to support day-to-day strategies across assigned categories, drive cost reductions, and strengthen stakeholder collaboration. You will help optimize total cost of ownership and influence supplier performance while upholding Kroger's values.

You will analyze spend, benchmark opportunities, model should-cost scenarios, and support contract data governance and supplier financing programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience in procurement, supply chain or related field.
• 1 year professional procurement experience.
• Ability to lead, influence, and communicate effectively across teams.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven decision making.
• Ability to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop award optimization scenarios to minimize total cost of ownership.
• Respond to supplier and stakeholder questions on category, supply, event, price, or specification.
• Support supplier financing programs and early payment/accounts payable initiatives.
• Prepare planning guides to facilitate negotiations and provide support as needed.
• Conduct sourcing analysis, benchmarking, and should-cost modeling to identify opportunities.
• Prepare category improvement projections and perform post-implementation variance analysis.
• Identify total internal costs linked to supplier price, delivery, and quality; quantify total ownership cost per product/service.
• Collaborate with contract management on data administration, addendums, and supplier documentation.
• Support category managers in supplier performance targets and scorecards; assist SRM team with supplier assessments and analytics.
• Partner with KPI & Benefits team to track savings and communicate outcomes.
• Support other initiatives affecting organizational performance and engage relevant stakeholders.
• Lead and coach direct reports, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback.
